There are two schools of thought about this. I happen to think that a well-made Zin such as Rocking Horse from a decent vintage would last at least 9 years and possibly more. The other school refers to trying anything over 3 years as necrophilia. At this point there is nothing to lose by pulling the cork. While the wine may have aged nicely, it has reached a plateau and probably will not improve any further. If it is over the hill at least you'll know. Here's hoping for the best.
