Anisa, First of all, let me apologize for being so tardy in getting a reply to you. And second, congratulations! I had the privilege of tasting the '98 Mondavi Reserve Cabernet upon its release and it is a truly world-class bottle of wine. It would certainly go very well with the tomato-based/sausage/beef dish that you mentioned. My own favorite for that sort of big Cab is Beef Wellington. This wine has huge tannins, though they are in balance. Another idea would be a thick, grilled T-Bone or Porterhouse with a generous amount of cracked pepper pressed into it. Regardless, I am sure that it will be a memorable experience. Enjoy.
