FRANCE"
The Tour de France is the most
famous cycling event in the world. Co-incidentally, it is also
interesting that most of the world's most famous and important varietal
grapes originated in France along parts of this route. Moreover, true
Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne, Loire, Rhône and Alsace wines have been the
proto-types, and indeed, the models for most of the best wines of the rest
of the world. There is nothing quite like what Cabernet Sauvignon,
Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah can be when made,
with the benefit of centuries of experience, into wines from grapes grown in
their ancestral homes. Below are some of our favorites that are also
paradigms of their respective styles. There are over 50 French wines
